£350,000-a-week Man Utd star determined to secure move away from OT

Manchester United have to strengthen their team in the winter transfer window and they must also let go players, who are not needed or want to leave the club.

According to El Gol Digital, Alexis Sanchez is determined to secure a move away from Old Trafford and the likes of Valencia and Atletico Madrid are interested in luring him.

In January 2018, the Red Devils splashed the cash to sign Sanchez from Arsenal. At the Emirates, the Chilean international was an absolute superstar, so, United opted to make him their highest paid player. Now, they should be regretting the decision.

Transfer: Man Utd are in talks to sign £70million playmaker in summer

The 30-year-old playmaker earns £350,000-a-week (The Daily Star) i.e. around £18.2million annually and almost a year after moving to Old Trafford, he has never performed at the optimum level for the club.

For now, in the attacking third, the likes of Lingard, Martial and Rashford have been brilliant in recent weeks and the club have not missed Sanchez at all.

If the South American attacker is really looking to leave United in the winter transfer window then the club should sell him immediately. Not sure whether the likes of Valencia and Atletico Madrid can afford his high wages. Nevertheless, United must sell him to the highest bidder.

His current contract would expire in 2022 so, Woodward could get a decent amount of cash from his sale, which could be re-invested this month to reinforce the squad.

In your view, should United keep Sanchez or let him go?

  1. Sanchez is hard working but does not seem to fit in with the style of play at MUFC. It is better they part now. And use the money on a world class defender.

  2. Under Mourinho Sanchez and all atta k minded players where blunted by his tactics. Solskjaer does things the Ferguson way and it allows the talented forward men doing their stuff. I say let’s see what Sanchez can do now with license to Express. If that’s a failure then in the summer.
Thing is Mourinho reckons defensively we are weak then operates a defence minded tactic with a weak defence. That idea was never going to work. Is it me but under solksjaer does the so called weak defence look more solid. This defence was second best last year except for Blind who didnt play much anyway. How can the defence become this in between seasons. Answer Mourinho turning players morale through the floor with stupid media comments so that he can spend spend spend. We have played lopsided with no right winger. Why not pluck a Chong or someone to fill the right winger. Solks has now. This is a manager who is less experienced than Mouriniho. But his teams look like a manager who is far more experienced than Mourinho. Jose wont manage in the Prem again at a top side. His slow style is not the premiership way.
