Anthony Martial: This Manchester United Star is the world’s best midfielder

Manchester United forward Anthony Martial believes that his compatriot Paul Pogba is probably the best midfielder in the world at the moment. The 21-year-old also backs his compatriot to win the Ballon d’Or within the next five years.

Speaking to MUTV, Martial feels Pogba has all the physical and mental attributes required to become the leading midfielder in the world, he said: “Paul is very mentally strong and he is very sure of himself. He is a big guy, he is very technical on the ball and he has lots of endurance.I would say he is probably the best midfield player in the world. He is still young, too, so he has a lot to work on and he can get even better.”

Pogba had a slow start on his Old Trafford return last term, but he still managed to net nine goals across all competitions, while celebrating an EFL Cup and Europa League double. With the arrival of Nemanja Matic this summer, the Frenchman has had the license to roam forward, and this has paid dividends with two goals in as many games.

At just 24, Pogba still has many years ahead of him, and Martial insists his compatriot could go on to lift the Ballon d’Or title in five years’ time, he added: “If he continues to play and improve like he is doing then I think he is also going to win the Ballon d’Or award in the next five years.”

Manchester United play hosts to Leicester City in their next league outing, and Pogba and co. will be aiming for three points in order to head into the international break with a 100 percent win record.
