Champions League football key to securing top targets for Man Utd

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Man Utd boss

Manchester United failed to book their place in the Europe’s elite competition after finishing 6th in the Premier League last term.

As far as this season is concerned, at the moment, the Red Devils are three points behind Chelsea, who currently sit fourth and occupy the final CL qualification spot.

If United fail to qualify for the Champions League again, then they might not be able to secure their top targets in the summer transfer window. One of the priority targets is England international Jadon Sancho.

According to Bleacher Sport journalist Dean Jones, the Dortmund star would like to go to Man Utd mainly because they can offer him a huge contract, however, the move could depend on CL qualification.

The 20-year-old has already played 15 games in the top tier of European Football for the German club, so, he knows all about the excitement and the level of competition on CL nights.

He might be able to earn a lot at Old Trafford but playing in the Europa League would be a massive step down for him.

If the season is considered null and void then based on last campaign’s position, we might fail to play in the CL again. So, let’s hope for the suspension to be lifted soon so that we can complete the season.

In the current campaign, we have drawn 9 games and won just three more than the draws, so it is good to know the draw predictions. However, with just 9 games remaining, Solskjaer’s men must step up and win majority of the fixtures to have a strong chance of qualifying for the Europe’s top tournament. Good thing is that Man Utd have already played home and away with most of the strong teams this term.
