Confirmed: Serie A giants make contact with Man United’s 30-year-old midfielder

AC Milan have reportedly made contact with Marouane Fellaini regarding a probable move to the Serie A this summer. The Belgium international has just one month left on his Manchester United contract and he could be heading for a Bosman exit.

According to HLN journalist Kristof Terreur, the Rossoneri have approached Fellaini over a summer move with the assurance of offering him with a long-term contract. However, Terreur suggests that United are yet to give up on the Belgian and talks appear to be continuing with the midfielder’s representatives.

Fellaini has endured a hot-and-cold relationship with the club’s supporters over the past five years but he is still regarded as a key first-team player under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho.

Nevertheless, there has been little progress since the Portuguese updated on the midfielder’s position last month and it will be interesting to whether United can get a deal over the line prior to the World Cup.

Mourinho has already confirmed that the club would be pursuing a replacement for the retired Michael Carrick in the transfer window and there could potentially be a second midfield signing if Fellaini leaves on a free.
