From South America – Man Utd want signing of £98million forward

Jose Mourinho Ed Woodward

Manchester United splashed the cash to sign Belgian international Romelu Lukaku from Everton before the start of last season.

The former Chelsea striker managed to score 27 goals in all competitions for the Red Devils in the last campaign. This season, so far, he has scored 3 goals in 4 PL appearances under Mourinho.

United let Zlatan Ibrahimovic leave the club and recent reports indicate that they are now looking to sign a new center forward.

According to Argentine outlet Ole, Mourinho wants to strengthen his strike-force and Man Utd want signing of Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi.

The 25-year-old star scored 29 goals in 34 league appearances for the Nerazzurri last season still, Sampoli opted not to select him in the national squad for the World Cup and preferred the likes of Aguero and Higuain.

Icardi is without doubt one of the best goal scorers in the world, who will largely improve Jose Mourinho’s attack.

As per the South American source (Ole), Manchester United would have to pay the release clause of 110 million euros (£98million) to hire the services of the La Albiceleste star.
