Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has insisted that Anthony Martial is a part of his plans ahead of the start of the new Premier League season. The France international has recently been tipped to pursue a loan deal with Inter Milan which would enable United to secure the services of Ivan Perisic.

Martial, who is on currently on £65,000-a-week, managed just 19 league starts during Mourinho’s first season in-charge at Old Trafford, but the Portuguese still considers the Frenchman as a huge prospect for the future.

Following Wednesday’s 2-1 friendly win over Sampdoria, Mourinho was questioned about the Frenchman’s future for which he assured that the 21-year-old will have a role to play next season.

“Everybody’s in the plan — the plan is to have a good squad, not a good team, a good squad with option,” he is quoted as saying on the club’s official website.

The former Monaco graduate has largely been used from the substitutes’ bench in pre-season, and he had a similar cameo at the Aviva Stadium where he set up Juan Mata for the winning goal – 10 minutes from time.

Both Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford have been preferred ahead of Martial for the forward duties, but Mourinho insists he requires different types of players in his ranks – depending on the game situations next season.

“We need options and different players. Lukaku, Martial and Rashford are all different and we need everybody, and it’s going to be good,” he added. “It’s going to be fun to choose the team for every match, according to the plan, the opponent, so the squad is good.”
