As per reports going on in the media, it seems that Mario Mandzukic is all set to leave Juventus and sign for Manchester United in the winter transfer window.

Few days back Tutto Sport revealed that the Red Devils have a verbal agreement to lure the center forward in January.

Transfer: Man Utd could move in to sign ‘really special’ £100million play breaker in January

More recently, the famous Italian source have claimed that United are close to reaching a total agreement to secure the signing of the former Bayern Munich striker. As per Tutto Sport, agreeing a fee won’t be a problem for the two clubs.

On the other hand, yesterday, Goal.com also revealed that Man Utd are closing in on signing Mandzukic. It is mentioned that the Old Trafford club are confident that the Old Lady will accept a fee of £9million for the 33-year-old star.

As far as the wages are concerned, Goal claim that the Croatian international is expected to sign a 1.5 year deal with Man Utd that will make earn £4.4million annually i.e. £85,000-a-week.

Mandzukic scored 33 goals in 89 appearances for Croatia before deciding to retire from international football after the World Cup last year.

He scored three goals and provided an assist to help his nation reach the final of the tournament where they were beaten by France.

In club football, he has netted 476 goals across numerous European leagues and won many major prizes as well. So, we do know that he is a highly experienced goalscorer and United do lack experience in their strike-force.

Still, he has not played a single game for Juventus in the current campaign under new boss, Sarri. Will he be able to hit the ground running in the Premier League and help revive Man Utd’s campaign? Only time will tell.
