Manchester United signed a top quality attacking midfielder in the winter window in the form of Bruno Fernandes. Now, reports suggest that they are linked with another attacking midfielder and Coutinho is on their radar.
According to The Express, Barcelona want to offload the Brazilian international in the summer and want a cut price of £77million from his sale.
In such a scenario, the British source have claimed that the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea are considering making a move to hire his services and even Liverpool are interested in bringing the South American back to Anfield.
Coutinho was a superstar under the management of Jurgen Klopp before he decided to leave for Barcelona in the January transfer window of 2018. The European Champions have not replaced him as yet but they have not missed him at all after adequately reinforcing their squad.
The Samba star had a torrid time at the Nou Camp and the Catalan giants decided to loan him out to Bayern Munich last summer.
In the German Bundesliga this term, the former Nerazzurri playmaker has so far started 12 games and directly contributed in as many goals (6 goals and 6 assists). However, it must be remembered that in the last 7 games in all competitions, he has failed to find the net.
Coutinho is a proven Premier League player, who has the quality to improve Man Utd’s attack but in all fairness, it is highly unlikely that he will opt to move to Old Trafford because such a transfer will tarnish his reputation at Anfield forever.
The 27-year-old’s star’s current contract with the reigning Spanish champions will expire in 2023 and he earns around (Marca) 13.5million euros annually (£218,000-a-week).
