Manchester United have been heavily linked with French striker Moussa Dembele in the past few weeks.
Now, the Lyon center forward is once again in the lime light and reports suggest that the Red Devils have once again scouted him at the weekend.
According to The Mail, the Old Trafford club are looking to reinforce their offense in the winter transfer window and they have been interested in Dembele for quite some time. It is mentioned that on Sunday, United scouted the former Celtic striker again.
Lyon are currently struggling in the Ligue 1. They have failed to win in their last seven league outings (after winning the first two fixtures) and Dembele, who was not a regular starter last season, has netted 6 goals in 7 league appearances this term.
Still, he has been in and out of the starting XI and and even yesterday, he was substituted on the pitch in the 59th minute against St. Etienne.
As per The Mail, Man Utd could press to agree a cut-price to deal to sign Dembele keeping in view that he is not seen as a very important figure at Lyon. Few days back, The Star exclusively claimed that United believe that the 23-year-old forward could be lured to the club for a fee of £50million.
Last night, we fired blank yet again and were deservedly beaten by Newcastle United. In the last three games, we have only found the net once.
In the current campaign, so far, United have played boring football and have only netted 9 goals in 8 league appearances. Therefore, it is evident that the attack must be reinforced in January.
Dembele was a star in the Championship with Fulham and then progressed well under Brendan Rogders at Celtic. His goal-scoring record for Lyon has been decent as well.
In your view, is he good enough to improve United’s strike-force?
