Man Utd looking to sign winger with £51million clause – Face competition

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United are linked with numerous top quality players but now a highly rated youngster is in the lime light in the form of Gabriel Veron.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the likes of Man Utd, Man City, Real Madrid and Barcelona are interested in the Palmeiras right winger, who had an impressive U-17 World Cup campaign.

Transfer: Man Utd ready to splash cash to sign £68million playmaker – Face competition

The Italian outlet have compared the 17-year-old with Brazilian speedster Douglas Costa and the youngster has a huge release clause of 100 million euros in his contract.

However, as per renowned Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, the attacker recently signed a new deal with Palmeiras and it has a clause of 60 million euros (£51million).

The teenage sensation scored three goals and provided three assists in 7 appearances to help his nation win the U-17 World Cup and was named the Player of the Tournament.

Veron scored in the semi final vs France and provided a crucial assist against Mexico in the final.

At Old Trafford, in my view, United have mainly got two quality wingers in the form of James and Martial. Therefore, we need to improve the quality and depth of the wide attacking positions in the winter transfer window.

If Veron is anywhere as good as Real Madrid’s Rodrygo then Solskjaer should splash the cash to secure his signature as soon as possible. If not, then the Norwegian manager must look for a proven quality winger to improve the attack.
