If reports in the media are anything to go by then Manchester United should be able to confirm the signing of Welsh playmaker Daniel James in the middle of next month.
According to Manchester Evening News, the Swansea City attacker has already agreed terms with the Red Devils but his move to Old Trafford was postponed due to his father’s death.
MEN have stated that the player is now available for the national side and could feature vs Croatia and Hungary on June 8th and 11th respectively. It is further mentioned that is likely that United would seal his signing after the two Euro 2020 qualification games.
As a Manchester United supporter, I am desperate for the club to start reinforcing the team this summer. We had a below par campaign last term and must bounce back big time next season.
In the attacking third, we lack quality and depth and therefore James, who can play anywhere in the offense, would improve our squad depth.
The 21-year-old is a right footed player, who mainly plays on the left wing. In the recently concluded Championship campaign, the youngster started 28 games and directly contributed in 13 goals (4 goals and 9 assists).
At Old Traforrd, Anthony Martial is our first choice left winger and Chilean international, Alexis Sanchez, is the second choice.
After an extremely poor campaign, it has become evident that the former Arsenal man is past his best and should be offloaded in the summer transfer window. In his place, James could arrive to strengthen the attack.
On the right wing, we have Jesse Lingard and the England international was another inconsistent player. Therefore, I feel that United should move to lure a quality right winger as well.
