Manchester United did not reinforce their midfield department in the summer transfer window and now, they are linked with an Argentine midfield star.

According to El Intransigente, Leandro Paredes’ future at PSG is up in the air and numerous clubs have made proposals to hire his services in the January transfer window.

Transfer: Man Utd moved in with bid to sign £38million playmaker – Face competition

The Argentinian source have claimed that Man Utd, who urgently need a player like Paredes, have made one of the most prominent offers to sign him but they face competition from Italian clubs AC Milan and Napoli.

Paris Saint-Germain lured the midfielder earlier this year in the winter transfer window but the South American now finds him in a complex situation in France.

In the current campaign, so far, the 25-year-old play breaker has only started 4 games in the Ligue 1 because Thomas Tuchel has mainly preferred to use Idrissa Gueye and Marco Verratti in the center of the park.

On the other hand, Paredes has regularly started for the senior national team. The former Roma man was not part the La Albiceleste squad at the World Cup 2018 but since then, he has taken part in every single game for his nation. Overall, in 24 caps, the £130,000-a-week star (L’Equipe – talkSPORT) has netted 3 goals for the two-time World Cup winners.

At Old Trafford, Serbian international Matic is the senior most defensive midfielder. In all fairness, the 31-year-old star is now past his best and this season, he has mostly been on the treatment table. Therefore, United should move to sign a holding midfield star in the winter transfer window.

In your view, should Man Utd secure the signing of Leandro Paredes in January?
