Man Utd want signing of versatile player, not worried by £72million clause

Manchester United signed Diogo Dalot to strengthen their full-back positions in the summer transfer window but the youngster is mainly a backup option.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Red Devils are interested in further reinforcing their back line by signing another full-back.

According to France Football, Manchester United and Real Madrid want to sign French international and Atletico Madrid defender Lucas Hernandez.

The 22-year-old star is a versatile talent, who can be deployed in multiple defensive positions. The Les Bleus defender is naturally a left back but he can also play effectively in the center back position.

Last season, he featured in 44 games for the Rojiblancos in all competitions and played a pivotal role in helping them win the Europa League. He featured in 8 EL games and Atletico only conceded 4 goals those fixtures.

As far as the World Cup is concerned, he started all seven fixtures under the management of Didier Deschamps and provided 2 assists (one vs Argentina in the R16 and one in the final vs Croatia).
