Man United ‘will go with everything’ to agree deal with Atletico Madrid for £87.6m favourite

According to Don Balon, Manchester United ‘will go with everything’ to sign Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann and could offer Paul Pogba as part of any deal to land the £87.6m favourite.

United manager Jose Mourinho is open to such a deal as he’s reported to have had a falling out with Pogba this season and would consider selling him for the right price. Alternatively, if the French international could help in their quest to sign Griezmann this summer, Pogba could be used as a makeweight for his countryman’s signature.

Griezmann has long been a target of the Manchester giants. He nearly joined last summer before opting against the move, forcing United to change course and sign Romelu Lukaku instead. Nearly a year later, the Red Devils are in a similar position with the 27-year-old.

Signed by Atleti from Real Sociedad in 2014, Griezmann has scored and created 148 goals in 205 games for Diego Simeone’s side. He’s been in fantastic form this season too, contributing 40 goals in 47 games, so it’s not hard to see why United want him.

However, Barcelona are still keen on procuring the French international’s signature which could prove a stumbling block. Don Balon believe Simeone isn’t too keen to take on Pogba’s £200k-per-week wages either. Nevertheless, it doesn’t appear United aren’t going to give up on the forward just yet.
