Not Rashford, this attacker is the club’s most gifted player — Thierry Henry

Arsenal great Thierry Henry has once again heaped praise on compatriot Anthony Martial, who has made an impressive start to the campaign with Manchester United. The France international has amassed five goals and five assists for the Red Devils this term.

Henry has been pleased with the performance of the 21-year-old this season, having recently admitted that Martial is a far better player than him at a similar stage of his career.

Martial earned just his second Premier League start of the season on Saturday (0-0 vs Liverpool) after Marcus Rashford sustained a knock on international duty, and although he could not make a difference, Henry insists the attacker is the most gifted player in the United ranks.

“He’s the most gifted player they have. You can see the difference in Martial’s eyes. He wants to kill people, he wants to score, wants to assist.” he told Sky Sports h/t The Express.

Martial joined as the world’s most expensive teenager from AS Monaco back in the summer of 2015, and his maiden goal versus Liverpool drew instant comparisons with the Gunners legend.

The Frenchman managed just eight goals during Jose Mourinho’s maiden campaign last term, but he has since transformed into a different player – recently ripping apart the CSKA Moscow defence in a 4-1 Champions League triumph.

At 21, Martial still has the potential to become a world-class player, but he needs to maintain his performance over an extended period in order to cement his place as a regular starter.
