Manchester United have been linked with Tottenham star Christian Eriksen for quite some time and the latest reports are intriguing.
According to a recent report exclusively covered by The Telegraph, Man United are prepared to sign the Danish international for free in the summer transfer window.
The British source have claimed that the £40million playmaker could leave the north London club in January for the right price but Man Utd are ready to wait until the end of the campaign to hire his services after the expiration of his contract.
The 27-year-old is one of the best attacking midfielders in the Premier League and has what it takes to improve the Red Devils, who do not have a natural/quality CAM in their squad at the moment. Pereira has mostly played in that role this term but the Brazilian is surely not as good as Eriksen.
The former Ajax man mainly excelled under the guidance of Mauricio Pochettino but since the arrival of Jose Mourinho, he has mostly warmed the bench. He did start in the last league game vs Norwich and scored a sublime free-kick goal.
Overall, he has only started 8 league games in the current campaign and directly contributed in 4 goals (2 goals and 2 assists).
At the moment, we are five points behind Chelsea, who currently occupy the final Champions League qualification spot. In all fairness, United need to improve their squad as soon as possible and therefore, in my view, Solskjaer should move to sign Eriksen in the January transfer window.
Clubs can offer him Champions League football this season and that can complicate things for the Old Trafford club if they do not move in swiftly.
In your view, should Man United wait to sign Christian Eriksen in the summer?
