Report – Man Utd could launch move to sign £200,000-a-week star – Face competition

Arsenal star Aubameyang playing for Gabon

Arsenal supporters will really be furious if club captain Aubameyang decides to do what Robin van Persie did back in 2012 i.e. leaving the Gunners to join rivals Manchester United.

According to an exclusive story covered by The Sun, Man Utd could launch a move worth £50million to hire the services of the Gabon international, who is not expected to extend his current deal with the Emirates outfit which is due to expire next year.

Transfer: £310,000-a-week star would like to sign for Manchester United – Report

The British source have mentioned that French champions Paris Saint-Germain and Spanish champions Barcelona are also interested in securing the signature of the 30-year-old striker and could tempt him with Champions League football.

Aubameyang is a world class goal-scorer who proved his talent in Germany before moving to Arsenal. In the 2016-17 season, he won the Golden Boot award with Dortmund after netting 31 league goals. Last season, the African star won the Golden Boot award after netting 22 goals (shared with Liverpool’s Mane and Salah) in the Premier League.

In the current campaign, so far, the former Bundesliga striker has made 26 appearances in the PL and scored 17 goals, only two goals behind leader Jamie Vardy.

As far as his international career is concerned, he is currently the captain and has netted 20 times in 51 games for his country thus far.

Manchester United still have not replaced Romelu Lukaku as yet. Oghalo was mainly lured to improve the squad depth and he is just a short term fix. Aubameyang surely has the quality to improve our strike-force but it must be remembered that he will turn 31 in June.

The £200,000-a-week star (Mirror Sport) is surely a Champions League level player and deserves to play in the Europe’s elite competition. Therefore, I think that Man Utd must earn CL qualification this term to have any chance of luring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
