Manchester United have failed to qualify for the next season’s Champions League and Solskjaer needs to adequately strengthen his squad in the summer transfer window to bounce back next season.
The Norwegian manager must sort things out in the back-line. Our defense has so far leaked 66 goals in the Premier League this season and we clearly lack a commanding center half.
If reports in the media are anything to go by then once again, the Red Devils are linked with England international and Leicester City star Harry Maguire.
According to London Evening Standard, Man United targeted the Foxes center half last year and now, they are considering reviving the interest to lure him.
ES have mentioned that Ed Woodward has given Solskjaer the nod to spend a club record fee to sign a defender for the club. It is further stated that last summer, Maguire was valued at around £60million.
He has been in top form this season and therefore, I think he is going to cost a lot more in the upcoming transfer window. Back in March, The Daily Star exclusively revealed that the Three Lions defender could cost £90million this summer.
In my view, the price tag of £90million is a little too high but Maguire is a solid defender, who would be a huge upgrade on majority of the club’s existing center backs. Moreover, he is dangerous in the attacking third as well.
In the current campaign, so far, the 26-year-old star has featured in 30 league games for the Foxes and scored 3 goals.
In your view, should United splash the cash to lure Maguire?
