Report – Man Utd in talks to sign £162,000-a-week playmaker – Face competition

Yannick Carrasco Belgium

As per latest reports going on in the media, Manchester United are once again linked with Belgian international Yannick Carrasco.

According to The Mail, Man Utd are in talks to sign the Dalina Yifang playmaker on short term basis. However, it is mentioned that 26-year-old prefers to return to Atletico Madrid.

Transfer: Man Utd aim to secure signing of forward with £118million release clause in summer

The 41-capped international, who earns 10 million euros annually (£162,000-a-week), was linked with the Red Devils last year as well (Calcio Mercato).

In the last campaign, the versatile attacker featured in 25 league games for Dalian Yifang and directly contributed in as many goals (17 goals and 8 assists).

The Chinese Super League concluded last month and now, the former La Liga attacker needs to play regular first team football to earn a place in the national squad for the Euro 2020.

Carrasco can play anywhere in the attacking third, even as an out and out center forward and he has got ample quality and experience to improve our attack. However, it will not be shocking to see him return to Spain.

Marca recently reported that the player is already in the Spanish capital to complete his move. Moreover, an interesting thing is that as per Wikipedia, the ex Monaco attacker has already returned to Atletico Madrid on loan.

It must be remembered that he played over 100 games for the Rojiblancos and therefore, it will not come as any surprise if he opts to return to play under the guidance of Argentine boss Diego Simeone.

So, the Old Trafford faithful should not keep their hopes very high as far as this transfer saga is concerned. Let’s hope we can improve our offense before the closure of the transfer window.
