Solskjaer asks to secure signing of £35million playmaker for Man Utd

Hirving Lozano

Manchester United have been linked with Mexican international Hirving Lozano in recent weeks and the latest reports seem positive for the Red Devils.

According to an exclusive story covered by Calcio Napoli 24, Solskjaer has gained the trust of the club’s management and he has immediately asked to secure the signing of the PSV Eindhoven playmaker, who is valued at 40 million euros (£35million).

The Italian source have claimed that United want to sell Sanchez and initially wanted to replace him with Coutinho, however, after assessing that it is impossible to sign the Brazilian given the hefty fee that Barca would demand and his past at Liverpool, it seems that even Sir Alex Ferguson has endorsed the choice of Solskjaer to focus on the signing of Lozano.

Another Italian outlet in the form of La Gazzetta Dello Sport have reported that Napoli want to hire the services of the 23-year-old winger as well and they want to avoid competition from the Old Trafford club.

Lozano is currently the third highest goal scorer in the Dutch Eredivise having found the net 15 times in 24 appearances. He has also got 8 assists (league) to his name as well.

In all fairness, Sanchez, who was world class for Arsenal, has been useless for Man United. He must be offloaded and replaced. Moreover, Solskjaer also needs a right winger as in the absence of Lingard, it has been evident that United lack an adequate cover.

In such a scenario, Lozano, who can effectively play on either flank, would perfectly fit the bill.

Napoli are currently third in the Serie A table, seven points above third placed Inter Milan. So, they have perhaps secured their place in the next season’s Champions League. On the other hand, United are currently 5th and face huge competition to earn CL qualification.

Top players like to play in the Europe’s elite competition, hence, United must finish in the top four or else, it will not come as any surprise to see Lozano move to Carlo Ancelotti’s team in the summer.
