According to reports from Calcio Mercato, Arsenal are plotting a shock swoop for Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini.
Marouane Fellaini’s contract with Manchester United is set to expire at the end of the current campaign and although it was widely believed that the Belgian international would be handed a renewal by the Red Devils, circumstances now seem to have changed.
It is believed that United are ready to offload Fellaini during the upcoming January transfer window and a move to Turkey has been viewed as a possibility for the 29-year-old this winter.
Now according to surprise reports from Calcio Mercato, even Premier League giants Arsenal have entered the race to acquire the services of Fellaini and could make a swoop for the midfielder when the transfer window reopens.
Given his awkward and burly style of play, £80,000-a-week player does not quite fit in with Arsenal’s free flowing brnad of football but that being said, the Gunners have been in need of a midfield hardman for quite a while now and Fellaini could potentially do a job for Arsene Wenger’s side if given a specific role to protect the defenders.
