Former Sweden international Zlatan Ibrahimovic is likely to train alongside his teammate in the coming week after he went on an individual training session on Friday. The 36-year-old made his comeback from a serious ligament injury earlier in November, but he had felt some uncomfortableness which urged the club’s medical staff to extend his recovery period after a few appearances.
According to The Mail, the veteran is set to linkup with the rest of the team for full training next week after he went on the playing field with the club’s physio on Friday. Ibrahimovic had previously been working out in gym at the Carrington Complex, but he now appears to be closing in on his second comeback for the season.
Ibrahimovic was never expected to replicate the success from the previous campaign, where he lead the line sublimely with 28 goals across all competitions. Nevertheless, the experienced campaigner remains a valuable addition on the bench as his physique and keen eye for goal would be welcome prospect in matches, which United may find hard to breakthrough.
With the arrival of Sanchez, Ibrahimovic’s chances of starting are probably unlikely, but he would still want to leave Old Trafford on a high in the summer rather than fizzling out without the opportunity to make an impression in the Manchester United first-team.
