12-goal Midfielder Could Join Spanish Giants — Player Reluctant to Sign a New Contract

According to reports carried out by the Daily Express, Manchester United risk losing the services of the promising Angel Gomes to Spanish giants Barcelona.

Marcus Rashford is an academy graduate who has gone on to make a huge impact for the Manchester United first team, and it was widely believed that even young Angel Gomes would go on to follow in the footsteps of the England international.

Gomes is a very highly-rated player who impressed for the Under-18’s after scoring 12 goals in 19 starts last season and in the process, the attacking midfielder was awarded with the Jimmy Murphy Player of the Year award in May.

As a testament to his qualities, Gomes made his first-team debut as a late substitute for Wayne Rooney against Crystal Palace during the latter stages of the 2016/17 campaign at the age of just 16 and the Red Devils certainly view the teenage sensation as one to look-out for the future.

However in a huge cause for concern for United, Gomes has not yet signed a new contract with the Premier League outfit and while the offer from the club is on the table, he could leave for nothing next summer if a new deal is not signed.

Barcelona are believed to have been alerted of the situation and there is now a huge possibility that United will have to go through another Paul Pogba situation with Gomes.
