Since the departure of Jose Mourinho, Manchester United have scored 14 goals in four fixtures under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Red Devils do have a few top quality players in their attack but there are a few out of form stars as well and the club must further improve the department to challenge the best of teams.
Alexis Sanchez was a goal machine at the Emirates but since moving to Old Trafford, he has been in really poor form and has netted just 4 goals in 31 outings in all competitions.
Transfer: Man Utd are in talks to sign £70million playmaker in summer
We also have an inconsistent playmaker in the form of Spanish international Juan Mata, who impresses in one game and then disappears in the next few.
So, signing a top playmaker must be on United’s agenda and in my opinion, Woodward should move to secure the signing of French international and Lyon captain Nabil Fekir.
The £50million+ star (Evening Standard) was close to joining Liverpool in the summer and is still linked with the Reds.
He was part of the Les Bleus squad that lifted the World Cup trophy last year. Capable of playing anywhere in the attack, Fekir has the pace and the dribbling ability to go past opponents and he regularly scores and creates goals. Moreover, he is a brilliant free-kick taker as well.
The 25-year-old playmaker featured in 40 games for Lyon last season and directly contributed in 31 goals. This season, in 15 starts, he has directly contributed in 11 goals already (7 goals and 4 assists).
Back in September 2018, Lyon defeated PL champions Man City 1-2 at the Emirates and Fekir was the chief tormentor as he scored and assisted for Lyon.
United are one of the biggest clubs in the world and should have the buying power to lure Fekir. Also, they could get enough funds to sign the French star if they sell Mata and Sanchez this month.
