Manchester United are serious about signing Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund and recent reports have indicated that the Red Devils have agreed terms with the England international.

According to The Daily Star, the 20-year-old winger has agreed a contract that will make him earn £250,000-a-week, £13million-a-year at Old Trafford.

Transfer: Man United backed to secure signing of £73.7million star

The British outlet have compared the above mentioned salary with the wages of the current crop of stars but the source used for comparison is Sportekz, which isn’t the most authentic source for player wages.

If the numbers collected by Sportekz are to be believed then Sancho would earn more than Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

However, we have taken a look at the salaries mentioned by renowned British media outlets and can report that if the Three Lions star does end up moving to Old Trafford, then he would earn as much as the key Man Utd duo.

David De Gea is clearly the highest earner at the club, he signed a lucrative deal last year worth £350,000-a-week, £18.2million-a-year. After the Spaniard, record signing Paul Pogba is in 2nd place and he gets £290,000-a-week, £15.1million-a-year (The Sun).

In January 2019, Martial penned a new deal with the Red Devils that makes him earn £250,000-a-week (Sky Sports). On the other hand, six months later, Rashford signed his new contract (The Guardian) worth £13million-a-year (£250,000-a-week).

So, Jadon Sancho would earn as much as Rashford and Martial if he signs for Man Utd. The Red Devils still need to agree a transfer fee with Dortmund, who continue to demand £108million (Sky Sports) for their star winger.

Have your say: Should Man Utd break the British transfer record to sign the youngster from the Bundesliga side?
