Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil is reportedly in constant contact with Manchester United as he assesses his options for next summer. The German World Cup winner has just eight months on his present Gunners deal, and he is said to be considering his future away from the Emirates.
According to The Manchester Evening News, the 29-year-old regularly communicates with United boss Jose Mourinho with whom he worked for three years at Real Madrid.
A source close to the Gunners ace said: “I know he is always in contact with Mourinho because he likes him. He thinks he is the best coach he every played for. He has a special relationship with him.”
The report adds that the attacker would consider moves to only Manchester United, Barcelona or Real Madrid in the future, and he has no intention to ply his trade in the Turkish or Italian league.
Despite this, M.E.N insist that Manchester United are yet to make any sort of contact with the £154,000-a-week player; while the attacker has not given any indication of his next move.
Ozil is widely regarded as one of the Premier League’s best assist-makers, but his contribution off the ball has often led to criticism from pundits as well as a section of the Arsenal faithful.
