£15million Manchester United winger will get chance, insists Louis van Gaal

He is yet to feature on this summer’s pre-season tour of the US, but Louis van Gaal insists that £15million signing Wilfried Zaha will get his chance on the tour, maybe even giving the youngster a run-out in Manchester United’s next game against Inter Milan.

Manchester United have a 26-man squad in which they have out in the US, after the addition of Javier Hernandez at the end of last week. Wilfried Zaha is the only member of the squad not to get some game time over the first two matches, reports in the Telegraph rumoured that the youngster had not been performing in training with a less than committable attitude.

These reports were put to Louis van Gaal during his post-match press conference over in Denver, the Manchester United boss said:

“There is no Manchester United player who is fit

“Maybe the boys who have trained already before the tour, the ones who started on 7 July, are a little more fit.

“But the World Cup players are not fit. They have only had four days of training sessions, in the heat. So you cannot say they are fit.

“I have a lot of players who can play in the strikers’ positions. I have already said that our selection is not in balance. I can put six strikers in.

“So maybe next time I will put Zaha in because he is working hard. He is doing all the things I require or demand, so there is no problem.”

Manchester United’s next match is on Tuesday night against Inter Milan, where they will match up against former red, Nemanja Vidic.
