£200,000-a-week playmaker offered to Man United – Ole could move in winter

Manchester United needed to adequately strengthen their offense in the summer transfer window but they managed to lure Van de Beek and Cavani, who have not started a single league game for the Red Devils as yet.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then a proven Premier League star is offered to Man United in the form of Inter Milan’s Christian Eriksen.

According to Corriere Dello Sport (via Sport Witness), the Nerazzurri have offered the 28-year-old star to the Old Trafford outfit and are hoping for a swap deal to lure Fred.

The Italian media outlet have mentioned that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could move to sign the attacker.

Eriksen was one of the top playmakers in the Premier League for Tottenham Hotspur but in the last winter transfer window, he opted to move to the Serie A side.

The Danish international’s current contract with the Italian club will expire in 2024 and he is earning around £200,000-a-week (Football Insider). However, moving to Italy has not worked out well for him thus far.

In the second half of the last campaign, Antonio Conte only started Eriksen 8 times in the league. On the other hand, this season, the 103-capped international has mainly been a bench warmer under the management of the ex Chelsea manager.

Eriksen has only started 3 of the first 8 league fixtures and did not even play for a single minute in the last two Serie A contests against Atalanta and Torino. Moreover, the former Ajax man was an unused substitute in the last Champions League game vs Real Madrid.

Therefore, he needs to leave Inter Milan for regular first team football but in my view, Man United do not need him. The ex Spurs star is mainly a CAM and we already have the likes of Fernandes and Van de Beek for the No.10 role.

Ole needs a quality right winger, he failed to lure one in the summer and Man United should splash the cash to reinforce the position in the January transfer window.

  1. But why Fred? Let just remain in Italy. The time we were looking for his services, he chose inter over Man United. Fred has worked hard and he has established himself ,please don’t disturb him.
