£24 Million Striker Undergoes Medical Ahead Of United Move

Robin Van Persie’s exit from United looks set to be completed this week as the striker nears a deal with Turkish side Fenerbahce. United’s former top scorer is poised to follow in Nani’s footsteps this week – according to the latest reports.

The Telegraph notes:

Fenerbahce are on the verge of confirming the signing of Robin van Persie from Manchester United after the Dutch striker was told he was not guaranteed a first team place under Louis van Gaal.

The Dutch international is expected to have a medical this week and will sign a three-year deal with the option of another year.

It’s sad to see a player who once played such a prominent part in United’s success depart the club but it’s not entirely surprising given the relative lack of games he’s played over the past two seasons – and his advancing age. No matter what the future holds for Van Persie, the striker who upset the Arsenal fans by moving to Old Trafford – only to upset them even more by winning us the title.

  1. Van Persie is leaving not because he is not guranteed a first team game, the simple truth is that he wants to leave. For me nobody is assured a first team play, if you play well you will get first team. We should make sure we replace Falcao and Van Persie with youthful and vibrant forwards as well as keep Chicharito.

  2. one central defender, one defensive midfielder
    new look man u:
    valdes,new signing,blind,new signing,smalling,carrick,new signing,di maria,depay,rooney.

  3. Van persie needs to go but am sure the stupid Van Gaal wants to offload Chicharito after selling our young and vibrant Angelo to Ukrainian club. But what ever he decide to sell he should not think of touching Angel Di Maria.

  4. AS FOR ME,RVP HAS NOTHING PRODUCTIVE TO OFFER MAN-U AGAIN.LAST SEASON I REITERATED IT BUT MAN-U WOULD NOT LISTEN.LVG ALLOWED HIM ONLY ON PATRIOTISM SAKE.
RVP HAS RESORTED TO LAZY STRIKING ROLE.HE DOES NOT STRUGGLE TO BE DEADLY.HE SHOULD STEAL IDEAS FROM THE LIKES OF KUN AGUERO,KEANE,AUSTIN,ETC,WHO ALWAYS STRIVE TO SEE THAT THEY PUT THE BALL BEHIND OPPOSING GOAL KEEPERS.
ECONOMICS WISE,IT IS NOT FINANCIALLY PRUDENT TO PUT UP WITH HIS STAY.£250 000 A WEEK IS STAGGERING.LET US CUSHION OUR WAGE BILL A LITTLE.
LET US LOOK FOR YOUNGER STRIKERS THAT ARE HUNGRY FOR GOALS.THOSE THAT WILL ALSO WORK AS A TEAM SUPPORTING THE TEAM TO WIN ALWAYS.
