Manchester United have sealed the signing of Uruguayan international Edinson Cavani on a bosman.
According to reports (The Telegraph), the South American star agreed a two year deal worth £250,000-a-week to join the Red Devils. So, the entire worth of his contract is £26million.
The veteran striker is now the joint third highest paid player at Old Trafford, level with the likes of Martial (Sky Sports) and Rashford (The Guardian), who also earn £250,000-a-week.
Only Spanish international David De Gea and record signing Paul Pogba get more than the above mentioned wages (The Sun).
Cavani was a free agent for quite some time, his last contract with French champions Paris Saint-Germain expired more than three months back on 30th June.
So, for Man United to secure his signing on deadline day clearly explains that it is a panic buy, one that the Old Trafford club have been forced to complete after failing to lure key targets.
Nevertheless, the 33-year-old is a world class star, he has got a miles better goal-scoring record than the current Man Utd No.9, Anthony Martial, who has failed to score this season thus far and was sent off in the last contest against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Premier League will return on October 17 and the Red Devils will collide against Newcastle United. It will not come as any surprise to see Cavani start as the main center forward up front.
The 116-capped international has the quality and the experience to be a major hit at Old Trafford. In your view, how many goals will he be able to score for Manchester United this term?
I cannot understand how there how is it that Ole to blame for the loss. But it is mostly Edwood and Glazers who were blaming each other for not buying the players that Ole wanted as he knows what he wants and lacks in his team. It looks like the way things are going on even with the old players and with the new players is that everyone should work as a team to fight against other teams and not among themselves. Get over this and a character like Bruno Fernandez who can pull this team together and who has more leadership qualities should be given the opportunity of changing this team and that every player adheres to his captioning if he advises or guides these players to make them better players. Things have to change and Ole should use these different tactics. Otherwise we can expect them again falling to pieces.
Challenge Tottenham with some big signings like Ole wanted Jafon Sancho and he was not granted his request. So how can you sack him?
Man.Utd should still appeal about the wrong decision taken on Martial and Lamela.
