28-year-old midfielder accepts his Manchester United career is over: report

Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera is reportedly fearful about his Manchester United future beyond the current campaign. The 28-year-old is presently sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained during a Champions League game against Sevilla last month.

Herrera was one of United’s regulars during the previous season as he contributed towards the club’s League Cup and Europa League success under manager Jose Mourinho. However, he has not enjoyed a similar run this term owing to injuries and the loss of form, and he is now seemingly considering his long-term future.

According to El Gol Digital, the Basque player could consider a sensational return to Athletic Bilbao, should United pursue a new central midfielder during the summer. Should this not be the case, the Spain international could link up with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, who remain long-time admirers of his services.

Herrera has been restricted to just eight Premier League starts during the current season, and there are suggestions that his limited playing time may have something to do with an incident back in April 2017.

During that period, Herrera had invited a close friend with Celta Vigo links to the Carrington training base, and this did not go well with Mourinho, considering United were due to face the Spanish outfit in a Europa League semi-final clash, shortly after.

  2. when he come back from injury pls be using him is good player don’t let him go,

  3. Herrera has manutd in his heart and no one can question his commitment to the club.he is a very good squard player and is great on his day

  4. Injuries shouldn’t be reason to sell him. He’s a prolific player in the middle of the park…..let him recover & get contract extension.

  5. Herrera is a very good player, but i don’t like the way jose mourinho is forcing those players to play out of their wings, pogba, sachez

  6. I think Mourinho himself should leave, and Ander stays.
He is worse manager, and he is making United boring than van gaal. With all the big squad he has at his disposal ,yet the team can not perform, and always having problems with his own players. Bad manager. Fellaini, Mourinho,Young, Ibra, Dermain, Smalling, all should leave the team, and get better replacement for them,if we are to compete in Europe and England.

  7. ANDER HERERRA: I really do Want him at Chelsea For Matic. & Fabregas replacement Who Will Soom depart From the Club not Aaron Ramsey at chelson. As For goalkeeper: A.S Roman Allison goalkeeper Should replace Coutious. Them A Centre Ful aggressive back Like Arsenal; Mustafi added to Chelsea quard next Summer tranfer is What Chelsea Club really need For Progress.

  8. Sure many Man U fans like ander herera and wants him to stay unfortunately his career looks despair as he failed to become a jose Mourinho’s favorite player so I’ll not be having any problems to him departure in case of his whole life career in football

  9. Herrera is one of the best and committed player in man united,so man united director should hold up Herrera to a new contract if possible, let Jose go bcos I think his time in football manager is now going down and let’s appoint a good manager dat will take the club to the winning mentality it was

  10. with my observation, jose himself is the major problem for d team. instead of him to use them where they can perform honorably, but he is using them @ please like poision to them, that was reason they are entertain injuries all d time. so, let jose himself leave d club for better manager.
