Dembele and Griezmann Barcelona

Manchester United have mainly been linked with Jadon Sancho but now, once again, the name of Antoine Griezmann is in the lime light.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the French international finds himself in a complex situation at Barcelona and is looking to move to the Premier League.

The renowned Spanish source have mentioned that the former Atletico Madrid forward likes Man United and Man City and both clubs have made contact to hire his services.

MD further claim that the Catalan giants do not want a barter deal for the Les Bleus playmaker and still want to keep him even though he has so far failed to settle at the Nou Camp.

Griezmann was a superstar with the Rojiblancos under the management of Diego Simeone but the World Cup winner decided to leave and join Barca last summer.

The Spanish champions paid 120 million euros to get his signing done back in July 2019 (FCB) and attached with his contract a mammoth clause of 800 million euros. The 29-year-old’s current deal will expire in 2024 and he earns around 17 million euros annually (£295,0000-a-week) (Marca).

The ex Real Sociedad star has only managed to score 8 goals in 32 La Liga appearances this term and lately, his form has been horrible.

In the last 9 league fixtures, Griezmann has neither scored a goal nor provided a single assist. In such a scenario, manager Setien even opted to start him on the bench in the last two fixtures and he could only play for a total of 10 minutes.

The Frenchman has proved his worth over the years and he has got the quality to improve Man United’s attack. However, he is definitely past his peak and will turn 30 in March next year.

In your view, should Man Utd move to sign Antoine Griezmann in the summer transfer window?

  1. Griezeman had his chance to join United and he decide to go to Barca, now we have a new Captain at the wheel and he wants young, fit and talented crewmen to take us forward. We have enough older heads like Matic, Mata and Ighalo to keep the younger guys focussed we don’t NEED, we don’t WANT Griezeman, he would just be another.Sanchez, overpaid and passed it

  2. Yes I think he will be a good signing for Manchester and blend well with pogba and fernandes assist on goal.
