Manchester United have had enough problems to contend with so far this season but the Red Devils have one more on their hands now. Ruben Amorim is dealing with a massively depleted squad with injuries plaguing the coach’s selection choices.
Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer have all suffered issues and are unlikely to be available against Tottenham with arguably their best attacker of the season – Amad Diallo, set to be ruled out for the rest of the season.
News – Report – Man Utd now told £83.3million will be accepted for signing
Amorim is facing Tottenham who have struggles of their own. At best, this Premier League encounter promises to be a mid-table clash – although both teams will be keen on getting one over the other in this particular game.
With all this in mind, here is how we think Ruben Amorim can set Man Utd up against Spurs in the Premier League.
Man Utd strongest possible 3-4-2-1 lineup vs Spurs
Andre Onana is set to start in goal but he will want to show some improvement in his performances. The back three in front of him is likely to consist of Leny Yoro, Noussair Mazraoui and Harry Maguire, with Lisandro Martinez out injured.
The wing-backs on the night are likely to be Diogo Dalot and Patrick Dorgu. It will be interesting to see who plays on which side of the field with both players capable of playing on either side of the wing. We are going to assume that Dalot starts on the right and Dorgu on the left.
The midfield is an area of concern for Amorim with not many players to choose from and the only option for the coach would be to start Casemiro and Christian Eriksen. This does not offer much balance in midfield and Man Utd might struggle in this area.
The front three will surely have Bruno Fernandes, starting either from the right or the left. Alejandro Garnacho is likely to be the other forward. Leading the line, Rasmus Hojlund is in all likelihood going to be the number nine.
Man Utd will have to play a very good game to get the better of Spurs. It is unlikely to be an easy game and let’s wait and see how things play out on the pitch against Ange Postecoglou’s men.
