33-year-old Star Winger would be ‘Tempted’ by Man United move

Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has emerged as a surprise target for Manchester United with the transfer window closing in a fortnight’s time. The Netherlands international previously played his trade under Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge between 2004 and 2007.

According to The Express, the 33-year-old would be tempted by a move to Old Trafford, if Mourinho expresses an interest in his services. The Dutch footballer has been the mainstay in the Bayern Munich for the past eight seasons, but the German champions could encourage his sale this summer with age, not on his side.

Robben notched an impressive tally of 16 goals in 37 outings for Bayern last term and he is said to fancy one final flourish elsewhere before calling quits on his professional career. The veteran was one of Mourinho’s favourite at former club Chelsea, and he would find it hard to turn down a reunion, should the chance come by this summer.

Mourinho has brought in the likes of Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic in the current transfer window, but he is still on the search for a world-class attacker, who could complete his transfer business. The Special One did not think twice before recruiting Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the previous season, and it would not come a big surprise if Robben heads to Old Trafford before the transfer deadline.
