4-2-3-1: How Manchester United could lineup with Alexis Sanchez

Manchester United secured their first signing of the winter transfer window after they prised Alexis Sanchez away from Arsenal in a swap agreement involving Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The Chile international is likely to make his debut during the FA Cup fourth round tie versus Yeovil Town on Friday night, and we look into his ideal position in the United XI.

Preferably, Sanchez would slot into the left-wing spot, where he found most of his success in the Premier League, , but with the form Anthony Martial is in, Jose Mourinho would be keen to avoid disrupting the Frenchman’s rhythm.

In this case, the Chilean is likely to feature on the right side of the attack, where Juan Mata and the departed Mkhitaryan have featured without much success. Sanchez could, as well as, lead the line on his own, but he has made a greater impact from the wide positions.

Sanchez’s tireless workrate has also come into good effect whilst leading the line in the final stages of matches, and Mourinho could utilise him with the long-ball with his excellent first touch creating goalscoring opportunities.

  1. I’m really happy with the signing of Alexis Sanchez. This signing by United is great and also makes statement that English clubs can also buy world superstars and pay them. It’s not only Madrid or PSG but Manchester United has proven they are worthy and can challenge in the transfer market if only they vividly need that player. Alexis by no doubt will flourish and will do even much better in Manchester united. Glory Glory Manchester United

  2. Why can’t this pundit see any other thing but d flank, consider how wonderful Sánchez can play behind d striker, to me, that will be his best position in United, he can’t obviously replace martial giving his form and he is less effective from d right flank

  3. I think now it is perfect in attacking field but still we should think about left wings defend..luke Shaw hasn’t shown any best quality….

  4. better signing.EPL teams should learn to maintain their good players so as to keep their ligue competetive in europe
