4-3-3: Strongest possible Manchester United XI vs Juventus, Rashford and Martial start

Jose Mourinho

Manchester United welcome Juventus to Old Trafford for the third game of the Champions League group stage. Jose Mourinho’s side have picked up just one victory from the previous six matches across all competitions but they come into the clash with some positivity after a good second-half performance in the recent 2-2 draw against Chelsea.

Formation: 4-3-3

Predicted Lineup:

David de Gea has been the undisputed choice when it comes to the Premier League and Champions League games for United and the Spaniard should maintain his position between the sticks on Tuesday night.

In defence, Antonio Valencia could return to the fray for the right-back spot ahead of Ashley Young but barring this, the backline could remain the same from the weekend with Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof occupying the central defensive department whilst Luke Shaw should once more feature in the left-back position.

Onto the midfield, Nemanja Matic is a certainty to feature as he has done whenever he is fit. Likewise, Paul Pogba is another undisputed choice to make the lineup while Fred could get the nod over Juan Mata for the third midfield spot for his better tenacity and workrate.

In the attack, Mourinho may not tinker with any of his players from the weekend and this should witness Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford on the left and right side of the attack respectively with Romelu Lukaku leading the line as usual.
