4-3-3: Strongest Predicted Manchester United lineup to face Brighton, Romelu Lukaku starts

Manchester United make the trip to the south Coast to face Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday. Jose Mourinho’s side picked up a hard-fought 2-1 win over Leicester City in the season opener and the focus should now lie on forming a winning streak to keep up with the title challengers.

Formation: 4-3-3

Lineup:

David de Gea produced a match-defining save during the season opener against Leicester and he has already stamped his importance for yet another campaign. The Spaniard should start between the sticks this weekend.

In defence, Ashley Young could feature in the right-back spot at Brighton regardless of the transfer speculation surrounding Matteo Darmian, who started the season opener. Luke Shaw should slot into the other side of the central defence following a good display versus the Foxes, where he scored the match-defining goal.

At the heart of the backline, Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof were solid against the Foxes barring the late goal conceded and the duo should retain their central defensive positions against Brighton ahead of Phil Jones and Chris Smalling.

Onto the midfield, no changes are expected with Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera still on the sidelines. Skipper Paul Pogba, Fred and Andreas Pereira should take up the duties in the centre of the park with the latter likely to have more defensive responsibility on his side.

Further forward, Alexis Sanchez is very much certain to feature on the left side of the attack and he could be partnered by Juan Mata on the other flank with the pair impressing with their combination play during pre-season.

Upfront, Romelu Lukaku should replace Marcus Rashford, who did not make the most of his opportunity against Leicester. The England international was slow with his decision-making once more but Lukaku did not have the best game either after missing a sitter, coming off the bench.

Predicted Lineup: David de Gea, Ashley Young, Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw, Paul Pogba, Andreas Pereira, Fred, Alexis Sanchez, Juan Mata, Romelu Lukaku
