£40million star confirms ‘discussion’ over joining Manchester United

Manchester United have been linked with Jean-Clair Todibo for quite some time and the player has confirmed he has held talks over a move to Old Trafford.

Last week, The Mail revealed that the French international is wanted by the Red Devils and Nice value him at around £40million.

Todibo had a trial at Man Utd at the start of his career for a week. Moreover, he has experience of playing five senior games for Spanish giants, Barcelona.

The 24-year-old center half has not ruled out a move to a top side and also confirmed that he had discussions with the 20-time English champions.

When asked about United, he commented (via The Daily Telegraph):

“Honestly, I don’t want to talk about it [his future] because of my respect for the fans here and the club also. But we had a little discussion, for sure.”

Nice had the best defensive record in the recently concluded Ligue 1 campaign, they conceded just 29 goals and Todibo was brilliant at the back for them.

He made 30 league appearances for Le Gym and helped them keep no fewer than 15 clean sheets.

Still, due to France’s immense quality and depth in the central defense, Deschamps did not select Todibo in his squad for the European Championships.

His absence from the Euros would mean he’d be well rested for the next campaign, something that United would like considering they suffered with exhaustion and injuries at the back in the 2023-24 season

In your view, should Man Utd splash £40million to sign Jean-Clair Todibo?
