£52.8million player offered to Manchester United – Report

Yannick Carrasco Belgium

Manchester United have been in search to replace injured Christian Eriksen and reports suggest that Yannick Carrasco has been offered to them.

According to Telegraph’s Jason Burt, Atletico Madrid offered the Belgian international to the Old Trafford outfit.

Last summer, the Red Devils were heavily linked with the 29-year-old star, who has a release clause of £52.8million in his contract with the Rojiblacos (Marca).

However, Burt claims that Dutch boss, Erik ten Hag, has turned down the chance to lure the former AS Monaco attacker in the current transfer window.

In his prime, Eriksen mainly excelled as an attacker and used to play in the LW and CAM roles for Tottenham Hotspur.

However, since moving to Old Trafford, the veteran midfielder has mainly featured in the deep-lying playmaker’s role under alongside Brazilian play breaker, Casemiro.

Therefore, we need a like-for-like replacement for the Danish international and Carrasco is not the answer because he is naturally a left winger.

At Old Trafford, the first choice LW is Marcus Rashford. The England international is in the form of his life and is irreplaceable in Ten Hag’s squad.

In your view, who should Man Utd sign before the closure of the January transfer window?
