Transfer: Man Utd pushing hard to sign star with £425million clause – Face competition

According to TVI24, the 25-year-old attacking midfielder is very close to agreeing a move to Manchester United. O Jogo’s Filipe Dias has also claimed that the transfer is close (Sky Sports). Similarly, The Mail have exclusively revealed that the Portuguese international’s move to the 20-time English champions appears to be edging closer.

The British source have talked about a fee of £55million. However, as per renowned Portuguese source, Record, the Primeira Liga outfit will only agree to sell their attacker for an amount of 70 million euros (£59.5million).

Fernandes is mainly a CAM, who likes to play in the hole behind the main center forward. At Old Trafford, we do not have a single quality player, who can effectively play in the No. 10 role.

Juan Mata is past his best and United have mostly used him on the flanks. Lingard had a horror 2019 and Pereira is having a season to forget at the moment having only scored one goal in 26 games. Not to forget, he recently scored an own goal in the Carabao Cup contest vs Man City.

Therefore, Solskjaer needs to sign a top attacking midfielder, who can regularly score goals and provided assists and in such a situation, the Sporting CP skipper perfectly fits the bill.

The Seleccao star directly contributed in 50 goals for the Lions last term and has directly contributed in 26 goals in (24 appearances) for his club so far in the current campaign.

Let’s hope we can get his signing done as soon as possible to revive our season.
