Man Utd are in an interesting position going into the last few days of the January transfer window.
It was evident from the very beginning that to buy, the Red Devils would have to sell and that is exactly what the club has failed to do so far. This means that Ruben Amorim has been unable to make reinforcements.
News – Report – Man Utd told £70million will get striker signing done
The only player the Red Devils managed to let go was Antony, on loan to Real Betis. Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho were extensively linked with exits throughout this month but neither player has left the club and so hasn’t Casemiro, yet another expendable figure in the current squad.
Now, as per La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Man Utd star, Alejandro Garnacho, is set to now end up staying at the club this transfer window despite the exit links.
The player was heavily linked with a move to Napoli with Antonio Conte looking to sign the Argentinian winger as a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
However, the Red Devils have shown no signs of dropping their asking price of £60million and Napoli are not going to match the sum.
Kvaratskhelia made a surprise mid-season switch to PSG, where the French giants finally seemed to have signed their Kylian Mbappe replacement. As always, the domino effect most seen in the transfer window could have put Manchester United and Alejandro Garnacho in the cross-hairs.
What came as quite a surprising decision was the Red Devils’ decision to part ways with Garnacho if a suitable offer came in.
Having been touted as one of the biggest young talents at Old Trafford at the moment, the emergence of Amad Diallo seems to have taken a bit of charm from the Argentinian youngster.
Napoli were also linked with a move for Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi but as of this moment, they are yet to sign either player. With a few days left to go in the transfer window, it remains to be seen if the Italian side return with a suitable offer to sign Garnacho and if Man Utd still decide to let him go.
Even if Man Utd were to sell Garnacho at the moment, they might not have enough time to replace him with a player of Ruben Amorim’s choice.
It must be noted here that the Argentinian youngster has even started the last few games and the situation might be changing for him at Old Trafford. Let’s wait and see how this transfer saga plays out in the days left of this transfer window.
