Manchester United have been heavily linked with Spanish international Saul Niguez for past few weeks and there is another story in the lime light.
According to AS, Atletico Madrid could be forced to sell their prized asset due to financial concerns if they do not qualify for the next season’s Champions League.
Transfer: Manchester United prepared to go crazy to sign £74million star – Front-runners
The renowned Spanish source have claimed that the 25-year-old is wanted by Man Utd, who could offer 75 million euros (£65million) to sign him.
The question is, how Man Utd could line up with the midfielder if he does end up moving to Old Trafford?
Niguez is one of the most complete midfielders around, who can efficiently play anywhere in the center of the park. In his career, he has effectively played as a defensive/attacking midfielder but naturally, the La Roja star is a creative center midfielder.
Diego Simeone has even used him in the back-line at times but United should play him in his preferred central midfield role.
This season, Scott McTominay and Brazilian international Fred have mainly started in the center of the park for the Red Devils under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Veteran Matic mainly got game time in the absence of McTominay and record signing Pogba has mostly been on the treatment table. It must be remembered that last year we offloaded the likes of Fellaini and Herrera and did not even replace them.
Scott McTominay has been our best midfielder so he should keep his place in the starting XI and in my view, Niguez should partner the Scottish international in the midfield.
