Manchester United supporters reacted positively to Fred’s debut against Leicester City in the Premier League opener.
The Brazil international was included in the starting lineup for the curtain raiser at Old Trafford and he managed to do enough to please the club’s faithful.
Fred did not have the most fluent of games with a couple of mistimed challenges getting him cautioned but the fans were still keen to highlight the positive impact from the summer signing.
Positive debut from Fred. Energetic and looked to pass forward. Had a bit of bite to him too. Gave it away a few times but a good debut overall.

Fred has been pure class on his debut. Few more matches and he is going to be absolutely unreal. Great stuff from him tonight.

Fred and Pereira are ? neat, tidy and bringing a fresh, new energy to midfield – joy to watch, Pogba playing like a World Cup winner, Bailly and Lindelof oozing confidence and assurance, we’re showing real promise on the break but our right side is a crime scene.

A lot of reactionary criticism over Fred’s performance, but think he’s actually done well so far. He’s coming from the Ukrainian league, of course it’s going to take time to adjust. He needs to play as much as possible. A bit overexcited, but glimpses of quality.

Fred appeared to lose his temper during the backend of the 2-1 win which saw him substituted and he certainly needs to improve on his composure for the future matches.
Nonetheless, the Brazilian has only just got the taste of Premier League football and as the weeks go by, he should get more and more comfortable with the intensity of the game.
United secured a close 2-1 victory over Leicester thanks to goals from Paul Pogba and Luke Shaw and this gives them an early advantage at the top of their league standings.
Their next league outing is up against Brighton & Hove Albion on the road and Jose Mourinho will be keen on avenging last season’s surprise defeat at the Falmer Stadium.
