According to Talk Sport via Tuttosport, Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera is a target for AC Milan. The 28-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford and the Serie A side are hoping he could be sold for the right price as a result.
Herrera joined Manchester United from Athletic Bilbao in 2014, and has gone on to make 151 appearances for the Red Devils. He’s lost his place in the starting lineup, however, making only eight Premier League starts this season, and Milan hope they can lure him to the San Siro with the promise of more playing time.
However, Jose Mourinho may still be keen to keep him as a squad player. Herrera has struggled for form, but Manchester United have enough midfield problems without adding to them by selling the 28-year-old without lining up a replacement.
Michael Carrick is retiring in the summer, while Marouane Fellaini has stalled on contract talks and could leave in the summer. It means the Red Devils could be short on options in the engine room, so Milan might struggle to convince United to sell Herrera.
The player himself might not want to leave either, with Milan currently eighth in the Serie A table, 10 points adrift of the top-four after 23 games.
