However, as per the latest update provided by Sport Bild today, Xavi Simons wants to stay with RB Leipzig.
The renowned German media outlet have stated that for now, the 21-year-old is is relaxing with compatriots, Frimpong and Geertruida, and his family on sunny beaches in southern France.
However, on his phone, Simons is in consistent contact ‘with the city where he was last at home.’
Sport Bild state, Xavi is active in several RB Leipzig WhatsApp groups and has maintained contact with the Bundesliga club’s stars Openda, Haidara, Henrichs and Sesko.
The Oranje attacker has made PSG aware that he would like to stay with Leipzig, if they can reach an agreement, despite interest from Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
Renowned transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the French champions do not want to sell the player, they are prepared to loan him for the third season in a row and Leipzig are confident of getting the deal done.
Therefore, it seems highly likely that Simons will end up staying with the German side, who unlike Man Utd, will feature in the next season’s Champions League.
The youngster directly contributed in 25 goals for the club in the last campaign and was impressive for the Oranje at the Euros.
However, as it stands, even the Dutch connection at Man Utd might not help in securing him and they may now have to look elsewhere to reinforce the attacking midfield this summer.
