Transfer: Man Utd put blank cheque on the table to sign £330,000-a-week playmaker – Report

The Spanish news source have mentioned that the Catalan giants are linked with some of the top names like Lewandowski, Bernardo Silva, Marcos Alonso and Raphinha.

The above-mentioned stars are not going to come for cheap and the economic situation at the Nou Camp does not allow the club to secure the signings.

Recently Barca sold Ferran Jutgla to Brugge in a deal worth 5 million euros but it is not enough. The La Liga giants are looking for a big sale and all the roads lead to the departure of Frenkie de Jong.

It is reported that the Netherlands star has not been able to live up to his massive price tag since moving to Spain in 2019 and in his position, Xavi has two top-class midfielders in the form of Gavi and Pedri. So, the sale of the 25-year-old star is not going to be painful.

Talks with Manchester United are underway and the two clubs are negotiating over the fee. Barca signed him for 75 million euros and want to earn a profit.

It is stated that the 5-time European Champions are looking to get as much as 85 million euros (£72.6million) to send De Jong to Old Trafford.

We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds and will keep you updated.

  1. I am still pained that Man Utd is missing out on top strikers to arch rivals. First was Haaland, next Nunez I wonder the league man utd is planning to play in. What is their target? Man United have really not changed, if Ten Hag fails because of Man Utd’s sleepwalking I am done with supporting Man Utd until they are rid of the Glazers.
