£26m midfielder closer to Manchester United move – Report

Amrabat Fiorentina

Manchester United signed a top class defensive midfielder in the form of Casemiro and now they want Sofyan Amrabat to reinforce the position.

Earlier this month, reports indicated that the Red Devils have agreed a contract to hire the services of the Moroccan international.

Transfer: Star agrees £31million+ worth contract to sign for Man Utd – Report

Now, according to Spanish source, Nacional, Amrabat is ‘increasingly closer’ to moving to Manchester United as Barcelona are out of the competition.

After the departure of captain, Sergio Busquets, the Catalan giants have been eager to lure a holding midfielder in the current transfer window.

The Spanish champions wanted Marcelo Brozovic but he left Inter Milan to join Saudi Pro League side, Al-Nassr.

On the other hand, as far as Amrabat is concerned, the Catalan outlet mention that Barca left the race as they cannot afford to pay the asking price to get his signing done.

Fiorentina are looking to get at least £26m from the sale of their strong tackler and Man Utd aim to close the signing of the African star.

The Moroccan star is one of the best play breakers around and he was even better than United’s Casemiro at the FIFA World Cup.

Ten Hag cannot rely on inconsistent midfielders like Fred and McTominay. Further, Donny van de Beek needs to leave after making just seven PL starts in two full seasons at Old Trafford.

Have your say – Is Sofyan Amrabat good enough to strengthen things in the center of the park for Manchester United?
