Another Twist As Ramos To United Now Looks Back On

Just as many United fans were giving up on the possibility of the club signing Sergio Ramos the latest reports indicate all may not be well for the defender with the Spanish giants.

Spanish paper AS reports [translated] : The contract extension Sergio Ramos is not finished. Not even close. This was announced Thursday Cadena SER on its agenda SER Sports. Ramos is uneasy because the statement of intent from the Asian tour, the Madrid has not had contact with his agent. And one thing is clear Sergio Ramos. It will not accept the 8.5 million net net offered by the Real Madrid and wants 10 million euros per season to extend the contract which ends in June 2016.

Ramos having contract difficulties with Los Blancos is nothing new and there’s a good chance this whole saga could rumble on for another few weeks but if Real Madrid and their star defender cannot reach an agreement then United are reportedly ready to pounce.

Real Madrid’s willingness to jettison Iker Casillas earlier this Summer has shown they’re not averse to parting company with club legends if they feel it’s a good move so perhaps United may just end up with Ramos after all. With a host of signings this Summer, the Reds are looking in a strong position for a title challenge, the only question mark remains about a true leader at the back, if Louis Van Gaal could add Ramos to his squad then the title could be heading back to United sooner than many expected.
