According to The Sun, French forward Anthony Martial could leave Manchester United this summer if the Red Devils pursue with a move for Watford’s Richarlison.

Despite having so many attacking options – Jesse Lingard, Alexis Sanchez, Marcus Rashford, Juan Mata – manager Jose Mourinho is still trying to improve his option.

Richarlison shone in the first-half of his debut Premier League season and has been linked with German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich and Italian Serie A leaders Juventus. The Brazilian attacker’s asking price is believed to be £40m which United could raise from the sale of Martial.

The Sun say the 22-year-old could be on his way out of Old Trafford at the end of the season after struggling for playing time under Mourinho. Martial isn’t short of suitors, with Juve, Bayern and Olympique Lyonnais linked with his signature, so a summer departure looks on the cards.

In his stead, Richarlison is on United’s shortlist. The 20-year-old joined Watford from Brazilian Serie A outfit Fluminense last summer and has scored and created 10 goals in 37 appearances for the Hornets.  His form in the first few months of the campaign raised interest in his services and United could well be one of the club bidding £40m to bring him to Manchester.
