£4.3m difference – Arsenal agree “total” terms to beat Man Utd to key signing

Viktor Gyokeres Sporting CP

Man Utd and Arsenal have been after Viktor Gyokeres for quite some time and the latest reports indicate that the Gunners are close to securing the Swedish international.

As per today’s edition of O Jogo, the Sporting CP striker is expected to get his wish of joining the north London club this summer.

News – Fee cut to half – Man Utd now have to agree £35m deal to sign player – Report

The famous Portuguese news source have mentioned that the Premier League runners-up have offered a fixed fee of 65 million euros and 15 million euros in bonuses to lure the 27-year-old center forward.

However, the Lions are demanding a fixed fee of at least 70 million euros and 10 million euros in add-ons to reach an agreement with Mikel Arteta’s side.

O Jogo claim that negotiations have progressed and the difference is just £4.3m (5 million euros), which will not make the deal ‘unfeasible’.

As far as the personal terms are concerned, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Arsenal have reached a “total” agreement over the contract to sign Viktor Gyokeres.

As per MEN, the headline states ‘United left sick as Vik edges closer to Gunners’. Gyokeres shone under the management of Ruben Amorim and no one scored more goals than him in the calendar year of 2024.

So, losing him to PL rivals, Arsenal, will be a blow and the Old Trafford outfit are now looking at Watkins, Ekitike and Osimhen.

Amorim desperately needs to sign a proven quality goal scorer to improve the attack for next season as he cannot rely on flops like Hojlund and Zirkzee.

In your view, not that Gyokeres is close to joining Arsenal, who should Man Utd sign to strengthen the No.9 position?
